Celebrating Saint Mary MacKillop’s Feast Day

You are invited to be inspired by the spirit and charism of Australia’s first saint, Mary MacKillop.

Mary MacKillop is a child of Melbourne. She was born in Brunswick Street in Fitzroy and spent the first 18 years of her life living in this amazing city. She was formed by Melbourne in all its hustle and bustle of the gold rush era.

The Mary MacKillop Museum tells the story of St Mary MacKillop, her life and work and the work of the Sisters of St Joseph.

Fr Peter Malone will be celebrating eucharist at 12.30pm in the Chapel, where Mary prayed. Limited seats are available for mass. The mass will be live streamed in the Heritage Centre seminar rooms and you can watch this live via this link.

“Live Looks” half hour virtual tours will be broadcast at 11.00am and 1.30pm, using this link.

The Mary MacKillop Walking Tour, that includes Mary’s place of birth will be conducted at 10.30am and 2.00pm starting at the MMHC. The tour generally takes about an hour. Bookings are essential.
