The Heritage Centre offers an introductory talk on Mary MacKillop, a guided small group tour of the Museum and follow up activities appropriate to the group. Students also see the Chapel where St Mary of the Cross MacKillop prayed and visit the Temporary Gallery to view the changing displays and exhibits on offer.

Programs are available for primary and secondary students as well as special groups and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the students and their schools.

First Communion and Confirmation Reflection Days are also available for student groups. During these specially arranged days students utilise appropriate resources and where possible participate in a prayer or liturgical celebration in the Mary MacKillop Chapel.

Groups returning to the Museum are offered a range of activities and learn about different aspects of Mary MacKillop’s life and work.

An Advent program is also offered remotely for primary schools based on the presence of Jesus in the life of Saint Mary MacKillop as seen through four Sunday Readings in Advent.

The programs offered at the Heritage Centre are shown below.

For schools unable to attend the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre, the programs listed can be offered remotely. Please contact MMHC on (03) 9926 9300 or email mmhc@sosj.org.au to book a time for your school with one of the educators.
