The Mary MacKillop Museum tells the story of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, her life and work and the work of the Sisters of St Joseph. The museum and temporary gallery are open from Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm.
Group Tours of the museum can be arranged and may include morning tea, lunch, or afternoon tea.
Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre has two beautifully restored meeting rooms available for hire. Both rooms have natural lighting and reverse cycle air conditioning.
In addition to meeting facilities, Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre has modern, comfortable short term accommodation available consisting of four one bedroom apartments and six two bedroom apartments.
Our beautiful chapel in which Mary MacKillop prayed is open to the public from 10am – 4pm each day.
It provides a peaceful and inspirational atmosphere where people can withdraw from the noise and rush of the city to spend some time in quiet reflection and prayer.
Schools are invited to contact the Heritage Centre Education staff to arrange a group experience of the Mary MacKillop Museum. Programs are available for primary and secondary students and special groups, and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the students and their schools.
The Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre also offers both directed and private retreats.
The gift shop at the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre has a wide range of quality gifts, books, cards, CDs and religious items available to the general public.
Souvenirs on sale help to recall the museum experience for visitors and focus on Mary MacKillop’s devotion to the Sacred Heart, Our Lady and to our patron St Joseph.
